On Monday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the representatives of the Carriers´ Association of Ukraine who addressed the leader of the Parliament with the request to enhance normative and legal base for the sector.
In view of the recent protest actions of the carriers, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that the issues concerning regulation of transport duty and other aspects of carriers´ activity were, unfortunately, transferred into a political plane, although they should have been settled immediately, for the society not to be perturbed.
The representatives of the Carriers´ Association of Ukraine suggested that the profile parliamentary Committee jointly with the representatives of the Government analyzed legislation and normative acts appertaining to the sector in question and brought forward the bills essential for the carriers.
As it was reported earlier, on the last Thursday, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commissioned the profile parliamentary Committees to elaborate guidelines concerning amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Tax imposed on the Owners of Vehicles and other Self-Propelled Machines and Mechanisms".
V.Lytvyn made such a decision on the grounds of appeals of the activists of the National Protest Action against the increase of transport duty and taxes.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine gave a commission to elaborate corresponding letters to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with a request to scrutinize the appeals.
